OK, so it was the superbowl, and along with that comes all things beer and chippy. Went to T's house where we had some great treats and chili...YUM! Los Perros very much enjoyed the cornbread. Ahh, something all too silly about that "THANK GOD FOR OUR VICTORY...WE COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT HIM" And then the downplaying of the fact that he was the first African American coach to win the superbowl...but more importantly, he said, was the fact that he and his opponent were Christian. WTF is that all about anyway? I get it, I get it...good role model and all...religion is important to keep the lid on the pressure cooker of our species' inherent cannibalistic nature. Well, it sure was nice to get a national holiday and not think about the hundreds of people killed in the last few days due to a war that this great country started, and has yet to finish. I mean why would we finish...we currently get more than 2 whole percent of our oil from them...and that has more than doubled in the last few years since we've taken over. I mean TWO PERCENT !!! WOW!!!. We wouldn't want to just increase our mileage by 2% and forget about Iraq would we??? Nah, waaaaay to difficult. I mean that would require dropping a lot of money on a car that gets at least a half mile more to the gallon than our current cars....and that's just not feasible. That would be like 20.5 mpg...no way! OOOR, we could all keep our cars and every fiftieth day ride our bikes to work....noooo, waayyy too difficult. We really need that 2%. What was I thinking...
Well, as you can see, the holiday is over. We're back at war, and starting a new, bolder, better war than ever before. I somehow feel like learning to play the fiddle, so that I will at least have something to do as I watch the walls of Rome fall.
